Then and Now, Yates-102nd

2022–the same location

Another photo from the Chicago Park District’s 1938 Yates Bog collection. Yesterday I posted a picture of this same intersection, taken from a different perspective. Today’s 1938 photo features a few buildings on Bensley Avenue, the next street east.

Now 84 years have gone by since the Park District took the original photos at the intersection. I’m making a note to come back in 2106, to see what has changed in another 84 years.

    Would that people had recognized the importance of wetlands then.
