Then and Now, State-Jackson

1961–State Street @ Jackson Boulevard, view north
2021–the same location

1961—State Street, That Great Street. A bright, sunny afternoon with plenty of people and fin-bearing cars around. A Woolworth dime-store. Space-age street lights, too. Must be a holiday with all those flags flying.

2021—Not so much activity in COVID times. Woolworth’s is gone, and the street lights are faux-1920s-style. But now pedestrians can cross the intersection diagonally.

I’ll take those cobra head lights over the current ones any day!

Back when we made distinctive cars….the envy of the world. Loved that intersection.
