The Pasteur Elementary School occupies the east side of the 5800-south block on Kostner Avenue. The 1960 photo features a sign telling drivers that this is a residential street, with a 25 mph speed limit. Are those teachers’ cars lining the west side of the street?
Today the speed limit here has been reduced even further, to 20 mph. The playground area south of the school has been fenced in. And for whatever reason, there are fewer parked cars on Kostner.
