Our location is near the far northwest corner of Chicago. By 1957 this Edison Park neighborhood was residentially mature, with Touhy Avenue a major arterial thoroughfare. Though many people still relied on that CTA bus, the Standard gas station is ready to serve those who’d rather drive their own car.
Today Touhy continues to be a busy city street. Some new businesses occupy what was a vacant lot on the far left of the older photo. And the little gas station has been replaced by a large auto-body shop.
