Based on the layout of the street, the older photo might be Los Angeles or some other city, but probably not Chicago. Major streets with diagonal parking are rare in our city. As for the support-poles in the middle of the trolley tracks, the only other Chicago street I know that had them was Ogden Avenue.

In 2014 many of the buildings on this stretch of North Avenue remain in place. After decades of decline, the area is now being rejuvenated.

    Madison street had them also Broadway around Montrose. Seen photos of those.
